Porsche Cajun Goes Into Production

Porsche announced they would be taking over development duties for sports cars and large premium sedans. Now there's the news that partner Audi will now be responsible for developing large SUVs for the German auto maker.

That will include the next-generation Porsche Cayenne and the upcoming Porsche Cajun - a mid-sized SUV to be based on the Audi Q5. The current Porsche Cayenne was developed entirely by Porsche.

Porsche Promises 'Spectacular' New Car

After four years of no-shows to the event, German luxury car maker, Porsche, has announced plans to return to the North American International Auto Show. Details are limited at this point but Hans-Gerd Bode, Porsche's Press Manager, told Bloomberg "We'll have something spectacular to show there. You'll have to wait and be surprised."

Bode declined to go any further on this point, but early speculation suggests Porsche could introduce an updated version of the 918 Spyder concept. Nothing is official right now - the model could be a coupe or a more production-ready concept.

Porsche New Secret Model

Porsche introduced a new model at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Details are limited at this time, but the German auto maker said to the model is a "mid-engine sports car" - meaning fans were expecting something in Boxster or Cayman guise. Considering Porsche recently launched the Boxster Spyder, the new model could be the Cayman Club Sport, which the company leaked online recently.

Porsche is ready to introducing the new Cayman R model at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The car is based off the original Cayman model, a hot roadster just ready to prowl the streets. Cayman R is a special edition, which features performance improvements over the Cayman S lineup.

Porsche To Offer Hybrid Line Up

According to a recent report, Porsche has a plan to introduce hybrid tech on all versions of their vehicles. That's right, one day you'll be able to drive a hybrid gas / electric 911 or Cayenne.

Speaking with Automobilwoche, a German auto publication, Porsche development chief Wolfgang Duerheimer said "In the future, we will have hybrid drive in every model line."
