Porsche Puts the Red Light on Pajun For Now

Porsche of Fremont located at 5740 Cushing Parkway Fremont, CA 94538 strives to give you the most current news and information surrounding new Porsche vehicles and initiatives. In order to do that, sometimes we must deliver updates that aren't always the happiest. To our dismay, Porsche has decided to put a hold on development of a new luxury sedan.

In case you hadn't heard, the German automaker announced plans to begin crafting a brand-new Porsche sedan that would sit just below the Porsche Panamera in size and be dubbed the "Pajun." Auto experts have been speculating about the new auto's details for quite some time now. Back in September, industry professionals even claimed that the Pajun could give birth to coupe and convertible variants. However, Matthias Mueller, Porsche CEO, just recently put a halt to these rumors by confirming that the automaker is in fact going to hold off on development for quite some time.

Why get enthusiasts' hopes up only to turn the light red? Well, in the end, Porsche knows best. What Porsche of Fremont means is that company officials have taken a good, hard look at the big picture and decided that it's best to focus on current Porsche offerings rather than dive into something completely new....for now.

Mueller and his team aren't putting an end to the Pajun completely. In fact, several Porsche sources have said the new sedan's development will be back in action anytime between 2014 and 2017. Mueller explains, "We need to wait until the next generation of customers before the idea of a small roadster will work for Porsche."1
